Older and Older
From a link I've had on this blog a long time
Fascists and Nazis, yes, but few today have heard of the Sinarquista in Portugal, the Falangista in Spain, the Croix de Feu and Cagoulard in Belgium and France, the Stahlhelm in Austria, the Knights of St. Michael and the Iron Guard in Roumania, the Ustachl in Yugoslavia, the Arrow-Close of Hungary and others in Poland, Lithuania , Norway and elsewhere.
Erased from memory are the isolationist, pro-fascist and obligatorily anti-Semitic movements in the United States: the Silver Shirts and their "fuhrer" William Pelley, styled after the Nazi Brown Shirts, or Fritz Kuhn's German-American Bund, or the pro-German isolationism of Lucky Linde's America First, or the Crusaders for Economic Liberty, the American Vigilanate Federation or the Priest from Detroit, Father's Coughlin's National Union Party.

My Most Important Post Yet
Finished watching the FRONTLINE episode on GW Bush and religion a couple hours ago.
  1. The man believed for his constituency, the most evangelical in the nation
  2. By believing, he painted himself in a corner, living the life of a believer
  3. he attributes doubts to the failings of man, not the failings of Jesus
  4. The Jesus he knows is the Jesus of the Roman Catholic State
The Bible of Jesus Nazarene has yet to be written.  I have come to believe that the Teacher of Righteousness" of the Qumran community was, in fact, Jesus. The writings found there were the writings of he, in the Psalms of Thanksgiving, and his community, elsewhere. The books of the New Testament and the Nag Hammadi are the works of the jewish temple scholars, most of whom had fled ahead of the roman destruction of the temple(70AD). Mark was written by an early defector to the Qumran community.

We are the biggest, baddest motherfuckers on the block.  The main one to fear is the State of the USA.  JF Kerry is a man who will contain, to the best of his ability, any need to fear us any longer.  Please help elect him.  To say no man is perfect is superfluous, but the flaws in JF Kerry are so few, as compared to GW Bush, as to make debate superfluous.

Brand New Speculative Bullshit
I'd wager the chances of this being true in any meaningful sense are zero. Paul Wolfowitz has claimed al-Zarqawi is working with former Iraqi intelligence agents. Actually he used the weasel words "highly (probably|likely)". For those not familiar with Regular Expressions in egrep and perl, (word1|word2) means Either Word1 or Word2.
Yesterday, Donald at Heritage
I caught the second half of it this morning. I woke up ROARing, turned on C-SPAN 3, and there he was. I didn't sleep well. It was entirely bad. He just doesn't get it. I'm not sure a man of his years will be able to change his mind, but perhaps I'm just being ageist.
More Crimes of Paul Wolfowitz
He said he underestimated the "resilience of the Iraqi regime." Who are we fighting today? Mostly, I gather, people loyal to Muqtada al-Sadr. Al-Sadr, (is it just Sadr?), you should know, had his father, cousins, uncles, et cetera, killed by Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti. How THE FUCK can ANYONE POSSIBLY say this resistance is "the Iraqi regime?" Paul Wolfowitz, craven liar, found a way. But that's not all! But I don't want to spend my life with this type of person in office.
Senator Joe Biden finally started sounding like me today (C-SPAN 3 live coverage of the Foreign Relations Committee, witnesses including Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Armitage). 'sbout time. I don't think Mr. Wolfowitz took notes.
Molly Ivins is bright
I am a fan. Check out this article, for example.
To this end, how stupid is it that we have two dozen treasury agents chasing Cuban embargo violators and only four tracking terrorist money?
Psycho Killers, Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Check out the Wash Times (loony killer newspaper of drug-dealing, drug-running, South American death squad leading Sun Yung Moon) versus two other papers. This is cut and paste from Google News.

And it certainly isn't simply the Macedonians. From the NY Times.
The plan, they say, involved luring foreign migrants into the country, executing them in a staged gun battle, and then claiming they were a unit backed by Al Qaeda intent on attacking Western embassies.
On May 4, state prosecutors charged three senior police commanders with the killings, with two other police officers and a businessman. Mr. Boskovski, who was voted out of office with his colleagues in September 2002, is wanted for questioning in connection with the attack, but the police say he has fled the country and is believed to be in Croatia.
AIPAC this morning
Minority Whip Steny Hoyer spoke glowingly of idiocy on C-SPAN2 this morning. His final words "God Bless America and God Bless Israel."
Spy Sluts
There are spies, and there are spies that pretend to love the target, and become intimate with them. I believe those spies should be sterilized. The bosses, who pretend they aren't forcing the young girls to sleep with scum, and say "it was their own idea" are craven fucks who need their balls removed.

Right Wing Christians should want them sterilized, so that they can't accidentally get impregnated from the enemy.

And I think STATE SPONSORED SLUTTINESS is the pimping. . Sorry I took this issue so personally.

Was there ever an Army that didn't rape?
"Yet again, the Crusaders went on the rampage in Lisbon, burning, killing and raping. The same performance was repeated in Marseilles, Sicily and Cyprus. Probably they were just practicing and getting in the right mood for massacring Moslems upon arrival in the Holy Land."

Not that you need to bother educating yourself, this is a less Euro-Christian centric way to look at the situation. This is so strange. It actually seems the like the Crusades were a TERRORIST war. Saladin and the sophisticated arms of the Arabs meant that every single major battle was one by the Arabs, but the Christians would strike quickly, slaughtering women and children and men, harassing the enemy. Exactly the opposite as today.

Just Another Day Under the Hood.
We do what they say. We do what we say.

The court says stop. The court says go.

Lies about Cursing
George Washington cursed like a drunken sailor. But if you curse on the air, you should be fired! The Founder of our Country is TOO GOOD FOR YOU!
Sy Hersh
. You can wager that he has been on the GOP "enemies" list for a long time. That means a certain amount of monitoring, false leads for his stories, and probably some harassment. Here he is, helping to screw America's head on straight. The oil-sluts in the White House are simply NEVER honest when their butts are on the line. And since they run the Justice Department, you can bet their won't be anything like a real investigation. Here's an article which quotes DoD personnel denying Hersh's claim. They call it "outlandish, conspiratorial, and filled with anonymous conjecture".

Correct, that is not the same as false. Although they deny something.

Hat tip to Chun
Victor David Hanson isn't news to me. I like the way he uses certain words. Maybe we are both too hung up on the classics?

But this shite is just unfucking believeable

We have to return to an audacious and entirely unpredictable combat mode; put on a happy, aw-shucks face while annihilating utterly the Baathist remnants and Sadr's killers;
Please check out what he says again
put on a happy, aw-shucks face while annihilating utterly
You know what I think people who insist in this view deserve? Here's a hint, the person doing it would be wearing a
happy, aw-shucks face
.From now on, just call me Josh "Happy, Aw-Shucks Face" Narins.

A History of Us
Of course we are probably wrong about one or more things. I am fond of much research in this direction, furthering our knowledge, over the long run. All life on Earth is probably descended from some very primitive thing. These things made more of themselves, which might be the definition of life, and soon one or more of them started having two sides, like the Earthlings reading this, anytime soon. Some Earthlings think there are only two sides.
Corrections and Apologies, of a most Sincere Nature
Although, apparently, nobody died, I was all for the Iranian Parliamentarian moves made by the "Reform" Pary of Iran. I thought I knew what was going on. I thought the power of the Guardian Council was simply to veto laws. At least a few times I had seen their powers listed in that abbreviated form. Hundreds of reform minded Representatives lost their seat in Parliament because the Guardian Council also had an absolute power over who can run for office. When the Reformers started speaking out, the Guardian Council simply ended the political careers of hundreds of them..

On the good side, I seriously doubt the Iranian "Reform" Party was listening to me, but that's not the point.

On the good side, we can see the Iranian "Reform" Party as very honest, because they obviously didn't make the decision to act out at that juncture based on the timings of elections. If they had been "smart" (in the US political sense), they would have done something like this right after they were elected, right?

This is not blowback, but of the same world.

From Arms Control Today

The subcommittee found that Israeli intelligence agencies used information from foreign intelligence services without recognizing that the other states obtained the data from Israel in the first place.
Our Troops in al-Iraq
Most of our troops still believe Iraqis had something to do with 9/11. The Bush administration continues to paint the invasion of Iraq as part of the war on terror in a way that a more ignorant soldier could interpret to mean that "Iraqis Are Terrorists." If our soldiers heads are pumped filled with lies, what can we expect?

Like it or not, since April 19th, 2003, the day Saddam's government stopped showing up for work, this country has been Our responsibility. Iraqis can expect justice from no other quarter.

Anecdotally, I went through Marine Corps boot camp and was, subtly, taught to scoff at the Geneva Conventions.

Instinct in al-Iraq
First they put oilman/general Jay Garner in charge. Then they put oilman Paul Bremer in charge.
    Neither speaks Arabic or Kurdish

Neither is Shia or Sunni Muslim

    Neither has any practical experience

When things when bad in Fallujah, first they put former SH al-Tikriti general Saleh (mass killer) in charge.

Then they put, in charge, someone from Mukhbarat, Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti's secret police.

Do you like their instincts?

Do you want to guess what their plans are if things get worse?
