Yes, the US is at it again.  The evangelical christian stations, which run almost no hard news, are regularly crowing about Sudan, a situation where the tyrannical government, Arabic speaking, is cracking down on the OIL RICH Southern region, inhabited by the Dinka tribe, who are coincidentally Christians.  John "Iran-Contra-Drugs" Negroponte, former Bush-junta ambassador to the United Nations, has moved on to greener pastures, getting sweet contracts for the military-industrial-complex in al-Iraq, paved the way for John "Jesus is King" Danforth to say that the United States of Ameerica has no choice but to threaten and intimidate the Sudanese government.  It's in the news all the time where I am now.  Not once have these fuckers mentioned how oil-rich that particular region is, not once has the Evangelical angle been covered.  The news is covering up for a bunch of murderous thieves again, I see.

The Da Vinci Code, the Novel

Dan Brown has written a novel in the suspense/thriller mode, pitting an imaginary, ancient, secret society, the Priory of Sion, against a real, rich, and relatively obscure Catholic sect, Opus Dei. Plantard, a Vichy French Fascist, is the real originator of the Priory of Sion.  Dan Brown apparently believes Mr. Plantard's tale, that it actually dates back to 1099CE.  Plantard is a psychotic, anti-semitic French loon who blamed World War II on the Jews.  Josemaria Escriva, founder of Opus Dei, was a Spanish Fascist who supported the murderous Franco regime.   Fascist vs Fascist?  The Church studiously avoids discussion of this nature, while consistently decrying the books "relevatory" passages.  Franco was worse to Spain than Saddam was to al-Iraq, the founder of Opus Dei was in with him.  Fuck every Christian who just wastes their time trying to prove that Jesus never had any children, or that the gnostic gospels are frauds.  Why can't they simply point to worse-than-Saddam fascists on both sides? Why Farenheit 9/11 is wrong

  The various reasons to invade al-Iraq were mostly mentioned, but, for example, Colin Powell's reason was totally ignored.  He simply wanted to fight North Korea and al-Iraq, because those were the two aggressor nations of the last fifty years who still survived (he doesn't count US aggression).  The scary fuck considers Kim Jong-Il, the current ruler of North Korea, and Kim Song-Il, his father, who invaded South Korea for the Korean War, the same person, I guess.  A whole "let the sins of the fathers be visited upon the sons" schpiel, which works perfectly well with the overall religio-monarchist ouevre of this administration.  A chart will be made here showing how each administration "in" person (Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld/Powell/Rice) had their own reasons to go to war.  Mr. Rove, for instance, knows war presidents are popualar, and his only interest is election politics.  I actually have no idea why Ms. Rice went along with them.  The most glaring omission, perhaps, was the lack of a religious aspect.  Bush's supporters HATE Islam, and probably weren't even paying attention, or though it was all a "wink and a nod," when Mr. Bush spoke that it wasn't a war on Islam.
  Mr. Moore also got the sound of the planes going into the buildings wrong.   I got a good listen to the second plane crashing in, and the whine of the engines was the most significant feature.
