Language and Conflict In the Courts: Jury Duty

I got my form to show up for jury duty today, included is a seven question qualification quiz.  The fourth question is "Can you understand and communicate in the English language?"

It doesn't matter whether both the plaintiff and defendant speak only Spanish, all the jury must speak English.
