C-SPAN's Washington Journal This Morning

     The real problem with the Democrats lately is that the other side has a partisan television outlet, and our side does not.  IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT.  Fin.  End of story.  That's all there is.  Jefferson and Hamilton had their own papers, Labour and the Conservatives in the UK have their own papers.  Only one party in America has television.

     You might wonder "What explains Newt in 94, pre-Fox?"  The answer was a skilled manipulation of another television station.  The change from using the House Floor to communicate with other House members, to using it (through C-SPAN) to communicate directly with the American people.
