NY Times Critique; Pandering to Ford

Today there is a story on Ford Motor Company's attempt to reduce the number of employees via buyouts (NY Times).

Problems:
  • Repeated mentions of generosity of offer
  • No mention of Ford expanding outside America. I'm not even sure they are, but surely its the most logical question
  • No mention of comparisons with Toyota.  Although the article mentions the pressure is from Toyota, and Ford hopes to hire lower wage workers, no mention of any other auto manufacturer wages was mentioned.

I give this article one smear for sounding like a Ford Press Release, and two smears for skipping the most basic of follow up questions.  That's three more smears on the reputation of the NY Times.
