The Syrian Ambassador, C-SPAN's efforts

     Before the Ambassador spoke, they had Edward Walker, President of the Middle East Institute, repeat every allegation against Syria you have heard in the popular press, including those which have not been proved.  Walker asserts that the Syrians would change "their situation" (I think it was obvious he meant the government) if they only knew how.  He asserts, moronically, that Syrians are pro-American.  He produces the stupidest possible explanation for Assad's rise to power.  He was the last guy's son, and he glosses over that incredibly.  It's basically a monarchy.  Monarchy sucks, but this guy is a fool.
